We have a great tip for you today on how to track products and affiliate programs using PageSwirl and ProTrackerPlus together!

Using this technique will save you much time and goes to show that using PageSwirl with ProTrackerPlus is a match made in heaven. :o)

It was a few months ago I sat down and grabbed a pad of paper and started sketching out the best way to track multiple programs or products through out about 72 Traffic Exchanges that I am currently using to advertise my programs online.

Originally, and naively I paid an employee to set up a separate tracking link for 10 programs/products x 72 Traffic Exchanges plus banners and text link tracking. Wow… that took a little over a week (and over $400 paying an employee) to set up and implement over 1000+ tracking links. :o(

Then after careful thought I realized that I only needed to set up one tracking link for each Traffic Exchange I used not including the banners and text links I track. In other words, I figured out how to use my PageSwirl rotator and ProTrackerPlus to save me HUGE amounts of time and money setting this up. Yep.. this mistake cost me about $500 dollars and would have only taken a few hours if I did it right the first time.

This is how it works…

First, make sure that the products or programs you are tracking has the code (for tracking an action or sale) on the thank you or conformation page. You need this to track your sign ups or sales and it can be found on the “Track Conversions” page under the “Campaigns” menu in the ProTrackerPlus members area.

Next you place those sites into your PageSwirl rotator. Once you’ve added the sites you’re promoting into your PageSwirl rotator, you set up a tracking link for each Traffic Exchange you would normally add your rotator into.

You will want to name it something like 4×4hitspsrotator, ilovehitspsrotator, dragonsurfpsrotator… etc. You will also want to set up a Group name for each of the Traffic Exchanges you plan to use so that when you add a tracking link for each Traffic Exchange you can pick that TE that matches it.

Here’s the beauty of how this works when it’s all set up. Let’s say you want to promote a new program and know that it has the tracking code added to their thank you page. All you have to do is add it to your rotator and you’re done.

That easy? Yes!

Let’s go over this again real quick so you get it. Keep in mind, using this Tip will save you hours and hours of time. Not using this tip will make you add a new tracking link for each new program you’re using and for each TE. Not to mention you’ll have to login to each TE and add it after creating it each time.

1. Login to your PageSwirl account and add each program or product you’re planning to advertise in the Traffic Exchanges.2. Login to your ProTrackerPlus account and add a Group for each Traffic Exchange you want to advertise in. Just click the Campaign Groups under the Campaigns menu.

3. Then click on the Add New Tracker under the Campaigns menu in ProTrackerPlus. Add an Ad Code like 4×4hitspsrotator, your PageSwirl rotator in the URL spot and choose the Group name that matches the TE you’re using. For the Purpose choose what applies to the programs you’re advertising.

4. Once you click the Add New Campaign and get your tracking link, login to that Traffic Exchange and save that tracking URL into the main traffic section of that TE. Then repeat step 3 and 4 for each TE you’re using and you’re good to go.

What’s cool about setting things up this way is that whenever you check your stats for each TE you’ll be enlightened to a few cool things. First, what program or product is converting best within the TEs you’re using. Second, which TEs are delivering the most traffic and producing the best results. Third, what you need to change… which could be the pages you’re promoting or what TEs are not working well.

And once again… once this is set up… when you want to track a new program all you have to do is login to your PageSwirl account and add it into your rotator. It’s that easy and this tip makes PageSwirl and ProTrackerPlus the easiest to use and most effective tracking duo online.
