This is an interesting topic and has fuelled many debates
across the industry. A new \'trend\' has been to include
music or some kind of audio into your website designs.
The idea is simple, as soon as a page loads the viewer
gets to hear your voice or a musical selection of some
kind. The goal is to grab your attention.
Does this work? Or is the viewer actually annoyed by
this intrusion?
Keep it simple. I do not recommend that you add any kind
of audio at all. If you do want to include your own voice,
inviting people to check out your site, create a sound file
that the viewer has the option of starting when they want,
not when the website loads.
Yes, you do get people to stop and look at your site,
but the majority of the surfers give your website a bad
reputation if they feel like their surfing sessions are
intruded. The best websites, again, as quick loading
with a nice graphic and quick, smart and quality ad copy.
Remember you want your viewer to enjoy their visit to
your site, not dread it!
